Samsung announced in CES 2022 the launch of Samsung Home Hub, a new way to manage home appliances with an innovative tablet-style touchscreen device that provides instant access to personalized and connected home services.
Samsung Home Hub offers perfected connectivity with a range of smart home appliances and uses Artificial Intelligence and SmartThings to understand user needs and automatically provide the right solutions. By doing so, it helps streamline your tasks and responsibilities on a shared device that everyone at home can access.
“Samsung Home Hub brings continuous connectivity to the smart home and makes life easier for users by understanding their preferences and configuring their home devices and smart appliances accordingly,” said Hyesoon Yang, Executive Vice President and Customer Experience Leader, Device Business Digital from Samsung Electronics. “The connectivity of our devices and the intuitive interface of the Samsung Home Hub allow everyone in the household to quickly review their to-do list.”
Connecting a wider range of devices with Samsung Home Hub
With the Samsung Home Hub connected to smart appliances in every corner of the house, now you can manage your daily routine, handle household chores, and take care of your home, all in one device. As a home controller, it gives you a seamless overview of your entire home connected and on top of everything.
From launch, Samsung Home Hub will be able to connect to all products within the SmartThings ecosystem, including Samsung smart devices. Soon, you will also have direct connectivity to other devices in your smart home system, such as the lights and the door lock system.
Personalized experiences with AI and SmartThings
For the first time, a wide range of AI-based and customized SmartThings services have come together and can be controlled from a dedicated device with the Samsung Home Hub. These SmartThings services fall under the categories of Kitchen, Garment Care, Pets, Air, Energy, and Home Care Wizard (Cooking, Clothing Care, Pet, Air, Energy, and Home Care Wizard).
To make dinner time easier, SmartThings Cooking lets you conveniently search, plan, shop, and prepare weekly meals with Family Hub. When it’s time to do laundry, SmartThings Clothing Care connects to appliances like the Bespoke Washer and Dryer and the Bespoke AirDresser and provides personalized care options based on the garment material types, their wear standards and the current season. In addition, SmartThings Pet allows you to control your pet with the Bespoke Jet Bot ™ AI + smart camera and adjust the settings of household appliances, such as air conditioning, to make the environment more comfortable for your pet.
Meanwhile, SmartThings Air can provide automatic dehumidification and connect with air conditioners and air purifiers to manage the air quality in your home according to your preferences. To help save on energy costs, SmartThings Energy in the Samsung Home Hub analyzes your usage standards and uses its AI-equipped energy saving mode to help lower your energy bills. And to keep you on top of it all, SmartThings Home Care Wizard monitors all of your smart appliances, sends you notifications when parts need to be replaced, and offers guidance if something goes wrong.
Greater usability with Bixby
Samsung Home Hub is a unique 8.4-inch tablet that can be operated from its base or used while walking around the home. For voice control, the Samsung Home Hub has two microphones and two speakers to easily hear notifications and use Bixby voice commands. If you have any questions, ask Bixby. With high-performance microphones, the Samsung Home Hub can pick up spoken verbal commands from the widest room when docked.
In recognition of its innovation, Samsung Home Hub received a CES Innovation Award from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) before CES 2022.
Mention that Samsung Home Hub will be available in Korea in March and globally after that.
